Staff at a haunted pub captured footage of a ‘ ghost ‘ who knocked over a full pint of beer – leaving staff and customers terrified.
The Blue House pub in Hendon, Sunderland, is 167-years-old and is rumoured to be haunted, and now landlady Darla Anderson believes she has video evidence of a ghost.
When one of her customers was stood by the bar, a pint of beer stood by itself was mysteriously knocked over – despite no one being near enough to disturb it.
Darla said the glass fell as if it was pushed by something, and then remembered a spiritualist had visited the day before who said they sensed a ghostly presence in the pub.
Speaking to the SunderlandEcho, she said: “I remember I was just looking at the pint and then it just fell, there was only three or four of us in the pub at the time so there is no way that anyone could have knocked it.
“I just can’t find any reasonable explanation as to why it happened, all our customers cannot believe it.”
Darla decided to check the CCTV and soon found the moment she was looking for, which showed the pint falling despite no one touching it.
She continued: “I posted it on Facebook and… after seeing the clip, the previous landlady got in touch with me to say that she always said the pub was haunted as empty pint glasses would just fall off the bar but she never had CCTV to capture it.”
Darla said that some customers didn’t believe it was a ghost, and suggested that maybe the bar wasn’t flat and gravity was to blame.
But her family are not so sure, as Darla’s aunt was the landlady previously and she also believes the pub was haunted.
